Acolyte Recognition Sunday
We will honor our young people who serve as acolytes at St. John’s. Acolytes assist the priest with the worship service. They carry the processional cross, torches, and flags during the procession, and they help the priest prepare for Communion. As acolytes, youth cultivate leadership and responsibility within the church. We are very proud of these young members of our parish and hope that you will thank them for the time they devote to this special ministry.
Senior Sermons
Graduating members of our senior class offer meditations at the 10:30 a.m. services in lieu of our regular priests. Please come as you are able to support our youth!

Senior Sunday
One of the highlights of the year is Senior Sunday, when we honor our graduating seniors and hear them share their experiences growing up at St. John’s and their plans for the future. This year we honor graduating seniors Mary Kate Morgan, James MacRae III, and Elizabeth Chandler.

YAC Winter Outreach Project
Young Adults in the Church (YAC) is the final phase of the Journey to Adulthood Youth Christian education program. Our group has chosen an outreach mission project to help provide winter clothing for needy children at Walker Spivey Elementary School. Our plan is to collect warm jackets, hats, and mittens during November and December for distribution to children who need warm outer clothing. We will display samples and size information of the items we're asking parishioners to donate and will provide envelopes for those who prefer to contribute financial support instead of an in-kind donation.
Please contact any member of the Young Adults in the Church for more information or their advisors, Mary Holmes and Dick Kells
YAC Pilgrimage Report
We invite you to join us at 6 p.m. Wednesday, October 16 in Hauser Hall when the returning pilgrims will share their experiences and photos of Alaska. We will also treat you to omelet waffles and fixings, á la The Southeastern Waffle Company in Juneau, our new favorite restaurant! This is a wonderful opportunity for the young people to show their appreciation for the generous support they have enjoyed from St. John’s. Please come!
Penn Perry Guest Preaching
With a generous donation from an anonymous St. John's parishioner, the Trinity and Beyond capital campaign is set to surpass its $1 million goal for Trinity Center repairs. In conjunction with this final push, Trinity Center Executive Director Penn Perry will deliver a special sermon at St. John's on September 29. Join us for worship at 8 or 10:30 a.m., and stay with us for a youth-hosted luncheon to welcome and thank Mr. Perry.
