Don Stewart is our next guest chef! This will be an abbreviated Robert Burns Supper to include bagpipe and highland dancing, a Burns poem or two and, of course, the ceremonial presentation and address to the honored Haggis (to be later served as an appetizer).
The supper began as an informal birthday gathering (January 25th) of a few friends to honor the life, unfortunately short (1759-96), of Scotland's national treasure. However, over the years it has grown into a grand event that is celebrated around the world and is probably more popular than Scotland's official national day, St Andrew's Day.
You don't have to be a Scot to enjoy this festive evening so please RSVP to the church office with names and number attending at communications@stjohnsnc.org or (910) 433-4690. To learn more please read about Robert Burns here.
