The Fayetteville Independent Light Infantry will celebrate their 225th anniversary

The Fayetteville Independent Light Infantry will celebrate their 225th anniversary with a prayer service at St. John’s Church on August 23 at the noon hour. The FILI, as it is known, is the oldest Southern Military unit in existence and was formed in 1793 under the Militia Act signed by President George Washington and serves as North Carolina’s official historic military command to this day.
