POINSETTIA MEMORIALS. Remember your loved ones and donate a poinsettia. The memorial poinsettias will adorn St. John’s during Christmas. Poinsettia memorial forms are due Sunday, December 16. Rood Screen Greening - Wednesday, December 19, all day starting at 9:30 a.m. The Rood Screen will be greened all day Wednesday. Come as you are able to tie cedar branches to our Rood Screen. Holiday music will get us into a festive spirit and refreshments will be available, including snacks, a light lunch, and supper. Feel free to bring a favorite snack to share.
Rood Screen Installation - Saturday, December 22 at 9 a.m. The Rood Screen will be installed in the sanctuary for the Christmas services. We’d love to have your help in setting up.

CHRISTMAS EVE SERVICES - MONDAY, DECEMBER 24
4 p.m. - The Christmas narrative will be performed by the children. Nursery care will be provided.
7 p.m. - Rite I Holy Eucharist with congregational hymns. Nursery care will be provided.
10 p.m. - Christmas Choral Eucharist. Features the English Handbells Choir and the Chancel Choir. The music is followed by a grand Rite II Christmas Eucharist, complete with congregational hymns and traditional carols.

“QUIET BAGS” are available in the narthex and the inside entrance into the church near the Sacristy for children to take into the 10:30 a.m. service. This creative opportunity includes a Bible story booklet, quiet game sheets and coloring pages for your child to use now and take home with them. Once the service concludes, please return the bags with clip boards and crayons inside so they may be reused.
CHILDREN’S CHRISTMAS PAGEANT.
The time-honored Christmas Pageant will be a part of the 4:00 p.m. Christmas Eve service at
St. John’s Episcopal Church on Green Street in Fayetteville, N.C. We invite all children and grandchildren of St. John parishioners from ages preschool through 5th grade to participate in this remarkable pageant that tells the story of Jesus’ birth! The title of the pageant this year is “The Inn Crowd.” There is a part for everyone!

ST. JOHN’S ALTAR GUILD. St. John’s Altar Guild invites you to become a member of our team. Our volunteers donate a few hours a month, either on a weekend or Wednesday committee, to prepare the church or chapel for the liturgy. CONNECTIONS GUIDED READING PROGRAM. The Connections Guided reading program will hold another Guided/Partner Reading evening in Hauser Hall Tuesday, December 4. Volunteers are needed to provide a simple dinner meal (soup, sandwiches, fruit, and dessert.) We will have a Christmas Theme and this will be a wonderful way to start the season of Advent. GREETERS NEEDED. St. John’s Greeters have the fun and easy job of welcoming parishioners and newcomers as they arrive for 10:30 Sunday services. Greeters contribute to the warm and inviting atmosphere that leads attendees into our church home each Sunday. The duty is easy and the rewards are great! ARE YOU INTERESTED IN BECOMING AN USHER? We are currently in need of ushers. Ushers at St. John’s participate in a very rewarding ministry at the church. In addition to serving at the 10:30 Sunday morning services, ushers are also needed at funerals and other scheduled church services. Ushers are scheduled on a monthly basis and serve approximately once every 4-6 weeks. Training will be provided. PRAYER REQUEST BOX. The Daughters of the King take a vow of prayer and service. The Lydia Chapter at St. John’s maintains a confidential prayer request box. It is now located on the table outside the Chapel. The members of the Lydia Chapter will offer confidential prayers for your concerns or thanksgivings.
